Manchester City will head to Asia this summer as the men’s first team travel to Hong Kong for the first time since 2019, as part of preparations for the 2026/27 season.

In a rematch of the treble-defining 2023 UEFA Champions League Final, City will take on Inter Milan in The Asahi Super Dry Trophy at the state-of-the-art Kai Tak Stadium on Saturday 1 August, as part of the Hong Kong Football Festival (HKFF) delivered by TEG Sport.

Asahi Super Dry - the Official Training Kit Partner of Manchester City - will be presenting partner of the match.

Despite meeting in preseason fixtures in Baltimore in 2010 and Dublin in 2011, Manchester City and Inter Milan have only previously faced each other in an official fixture on two occasions, the 2023 UEFA Champions League Final and most recently in September 2024 during the group stages of the competition.

City previously visited Hong Kong in 2019, securing a 6-1 victory against Kitchee SC at the Hong Kong Stadium.

Peter Laundy, Senior Vice President of Partnerships, City Football Group, said: “We are thrilled to announce Manchester City’s return to Hong Kong, as we confirm the Club’s first preseason fixture of the summer in Asia.

“Our fans in Hong Kong and the wider region have always shown incredible loyalty and support for the club. The energy and passion we’ve experienced on previous visits has always been special and we’re looking forward to sharing those moments once again with them later in the year, and an exciting fixture against Inter Milan.”

Rachael Carroll, Managing Director at TEG Sport, added: “TEG Sport is delighted to bring Manchester City back to Asia for the Hong Kong Football Festival as part of two world-class fixtures at Kai Tak Stadium.

“Following the incredible success of last year’s event, we are thrilled to host Manchester City for the Asahi Super Dry Trophy. Hong Kong has proven itself as a premier destination for elite sport, and we look forward to delivering an unparalleled experience for fans as the team makes its final preparations for the 2026/27 season”.

Ticketing information for this fixture will be announced shortly, with further fixtures and details of City’s preseason tour announced in due course.
