The duo will lock horns in Qatar this winter after Germany and Spain were drawn alongside Japan and either New Zealand or Costa Rica in Group E.
Gundogan and Laporte reacted to Friday’s draw via social media, agreed to a friendly wager depending the outcome of their clash.
After agreeing that the loser of their clash on 27 November would donate to a worthy cause, they asked fans to tweet which charity they would like our City stars lend their support.

And the duo eventually decided on raising funds to provide 1000 meals to the MCFC Fans Foodbank.
Taking donations ahead of every Manchester City weekend home match, the group of City supporters have already raised almost £60,000 as part of an online fundraiser with their Manchester United counterparts.
It’s not the first time the two sides have come together for a worthy cause, with both donating a combined £100,000 to help local food banks meet increased demand as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in March 2020.
