Gianluigi Donnarumma was involved for the full 90 minutes as Italy drew 1-1 with Rayan Cherki's France.

The commanding goalkeeper put his body on the line to keep Eduardo Camavinga from swinging the proceedings in Les Bleus’ favour and no doubt was a big impact on keeping his side in the tie across the game.

The 27-year-old’s presence between the sticks built the platform for Alessandro Bastoni to equalise just after the hour mark following Michael Olise’s 55th minute strike.

Cherki, however, would be hoping to help sneak the ball past his City teammate and he did see a couple of attempts shut down.

He won the free-kick which Olise scored from, but was later replaced by Eduardo Camavinga on 76 minutes.

The head-to-head was part of Group A1 of the UEFA Nations League, with France now top on seven points while Belgium have secured six, Italy are on four and Turkey sit bottom with zero.

Elsewhere, Rico Lewis featured for Lee Carsley’s England Under-21s as they face Slovakia in the UEFA U21 Championship Qualification.

The decisive defender played the full 90 minutes in Stoke as the Young Lions recorded a goalless draw to seal their place at the UEFA U21 EUROs.

Earlier on in the day, Kaden Braithwaite and Ryan McAidoo featured for England’s Under-19s as they came out with a 2-1 victory over the United States.

Former City Academy product Reigan Heskey was among the goals in Spain, scoring inside one minute to ensure Ben Futcher’s side maintained their 100% record.
