‘Big Joe’ is a legendary goalkeeper that made his City debut almost 60 years ago and went on to play 603 times for our club between 1967 and 1983.
Since his playing days, the Manchester-born 76-year-old has been a coach and a scout at multiple clubs and is now an official ambassador at the team where he made his name.
CORRIGAN RECEIVES MBE IN NEW YEARS HONOURS LIST
Corrigan made his senior debut as a teenager in Joe Mercer’s brilliant team of the late 1960s and was named first choice at the start of the 1969/70 campaign while still just 18.
He won both the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup and the League Cup in an incredible first campaign before later adding the 1972 Charity Shield and 1976 League Cup medals to his collection.
The shot-stopper was also crowned City’s Player of the Year on three separate occasions and picked up nine England caps in total.
To celebrate Corrigan’s well-deserved MBE, we take a look back at some of the outstanding images captured during his long association with the club.
