Hart, now 36, ended an incredible 12-year association with City in 2018 and has since gone on to represent Burnley, Tottenham Hotspur and Celtic.
After joining from Shrewsbury at 19 in 2006, Hart went on to make 348 appearances for the Club and won five major honours during a transformational period at the Etihad.
Those successes included our first two Premier League titles, in 2011/12 and 2013/14, with Hart playing an integral role in establishing City as a force at the very top end of English football.
He was an ever-present during the 2011/12 campaign as we conceded just 29 goals and came out on top in the most dramatic title race in Premier League history.
His celebrations on the pitch moments after Sergio Aguero’s winner over QPR remain an iconic image imprinted on the minds of City fans all over the world.
He also earned 75 international caps with England, the joint-second most ever behind Peter Shilton.
In total, he won the Premier League Golden Glove four times during his time at City and was named in the PFA Team of the Year on two occasions - the first of which came during a loan spell at Birmingham City in 2009/10.
He was back at the City Football Academy a few months after leaving to witness as a training pitch was named after him.
Speaking in 2018 upon his departure from City, Hart said: “It’s been a fantastic experience, I’ve grown a lot. I came here at 19 and I’m going to leave at 31 so it’s been a long time and lot of things have happened - family, friends and a lot of football!
“I certainly feel a lot of love and appreciation. I’ve always enjoyed the City fans, I came here as a Shrewsbury Town player - a kid from Shrewsbury. It was the pinnacle for me to be at this Club before they were challenging for the title, and I was welcomed from day one. I think they saw in me someone who was just going to try his best.
“I wouldn’t have been able to do the things I’ve done if I wasn’t embraced or happy - so I’m happy to have given the fans some great memories and hopefully I’ll be thought of well.”
Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak said in 2018: “Joe Hart’s contribution to Manchester City cannot be overstated. His twelve years at the club has seen him produce some remarkable performances and heart-stopping saves that will live in the memory for a long time to come.
“His passion for and commitment to this club, evidenced by a remarkable tally of 348 appearances, means he will rightly be regarded as a City legend in perpetuity.”
