Joleon Lescott and Shaun Wright-Phillips visited the Georgia Aquarium to explore its impressive marine conservation work during City’s visit to Atlanta.

The visit took place ahead of our FIFA Club World Cup Group G fixture against Al Ain, which the Blues won 6-0 to secure qualification for the knockout stages.

As the largest aquarium in the Western Hemisphere, Georgia Aquarium is a global leader for marine research, animal care and sustainability, recycling a staggering 99% of its 12 million gallons of exhibit water, every single day.

In partnership with Xylem, the aquarium uses advanced water filtration technologies to maximise efficiency, reduce waste, and set a new standard for water reuse.

Lescott and Wright-Phillips took a private tour to learn how Xylem’s innovative solutions help protect marine species like whale sharks and manta rays.

They also tried the aquarium’s interactive water quality game, which challenges visitors to build virtual filtration systems that safeguard fragile aquatic habitats.

The partnership between Georgia Aquarium and Xylem highlights how cutting-edge technology can drive real-world environmental impact, inspiring a sustainable future for our planet’s precious water resources.
