The Croatian international has returned from his summer break alongside Mateo Kovacic after their country’s Euro 2024 group stage exit.
The pair will be hoping to make their first appearance on our ongoing tour of the United States when we face AC Milan at the Yankee Stadium on Saturday evening.
How to watch City v AC Milan on TV
With just over two weeks until our Community Shield meeting with Manchester United at Wembley, the 2024/25 campaign is fast approaching.
Gvardiol is determined to make the most of opportunities on tour, including playing and training in iconic locations, as we ready ourselves to chase yet more silverware.
“It’s an exciting time,” he said.
“I’ve heard a lot about that stadium and to play against AC Milan is great. I am really looking forward to it and hopefully I can get some minutes to start the season.
“I’m very happy to see the staff and the players and get back into training, especially somewhere like Central Park!”
Since the end of his Euro 2024 involvement, the 22-year-old has been on holiday – including a stop in New York.
“I came here two weeks ago with my friends for holidays,” he said.
“I really liked it and I’m more than happy to be back now. I’ve been to New York and Miami and at this time, I prefer New York.
“In the last three years I haven’t had many days off. I was really looking forward to having some time off but now I am ready to go again.”
