Gvardiol joined on a five-year-deal today after arriving from RB Leipzig.
The shirt has been vacant for the past five seasons but has been worn by notable City players in the past including John Stones in his first season before switching to No. 5, Patrick Vieira and Nedum Onuoha.
Gvardiol wore the No.32 shirt at Dinamo Zagreb and Leipzig but that was taken by Maximo Perrone when he joined the Club in January 2023, following in the footsteps of fellow Argentinian Carlos Tevez.
He took the No. 20 shirt at the 2022 World Cup with Croatia but that is also already being worn by Bernardo Silva.
Gvardiol is our second signing of the summer transfer window, following the capture of his compatriot Mateo Kovacic, who joined us from Chelsea earlier this summer.
