It was six of the best for Manchester City as we recorded six wins in as many days.

During a brilliant week for the Club our men and women’s first team and our Under-18s secured two victories each and the winning run was made all the more special as we lifted the Women’s FA Cup and the FA Youth Cup.

The sequence began with a 4-0 win over Blackburn Rovers in the semi-final of the prestigious Academy tournament and was completed when we beat Liverpool 3-0 in the Continental Cup group stage.

In between those fixtures, our men’s first team saw off the challenge of Sheffield United in the Premier League and Olympiakos in the Champions League, where the return of Gabriel Jesus provided additional reason to celebrate.

The landmark moments of these successive victories came at Wembley Stadium and St George’s Park.

At the national stadium, City fought off a spirited Everton to retain the Women’s FA Cup as Gareth Taylor secured his first piece of silverware since taking over as head coach and it was a similar situation for Carlos Vicens at the FA’s headquarters.

The Spaniard replaced Taylor as Under-18s boss this summer and continued his fine start to guide the Academy outfit to a 3-2 victory over Chelsea in the Youth Cup final.
