The 29-year-old provided 20 assists to win his second Premier League Playmaker award and in doing so equalled Thierry Henry’s 17-year record for the highest number of assists in a single campaign.

He also scored a career-best 13 Premier League goals and won the Goal of the Month award twice, for his thunderous half-volley against Newcastle United back in November and his curling effort from distance against Norwich City on the final day of the season.

City’s No.17 was directly involved in more goals than anyone else in the competition, with his combined tally of 33 goals and assists four more than second placed Mohamed Salah.
