Former City captain Kompany established himself as the inspirational figurehead of the side during his illustrious 11 years at the Etihad.
Having joined City from SV Hamburg shortly before our transformative takeover by the Abu Dhabi United Group in the summer of 2008, the Belgian centre-half went on to help drive the Club to a period of success unparalleled in our history.
His iconic Etihad header against Manchester United in May 2012 helped set the scene for our maiden Premier League title.

Over the course of his 360 games, which saw him score 20 goals, Kompany helped City to secure four Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four League Cups and two Community Shields.
His final goal, a stunning 30-yard strike against Leicester, paved the way for our 2018/19 title triumph and Vincent bowed out after leading City to success in the 2019 FA Cup final, subsequently becoming player-manager at Anderlecht.
Argentine striker Aguero cemented himself in both City and football folklore with his iconic 93:20 title winning goal against Queens Park Rangers in May 2012, to seal our first-ever Premier League title.
He went to become the Club’s all-time leading scorer, amassing 260 goals from 390 games and is regarded as one of the finest strikers to ever grace the English game.
In total, Aguero won 15 major trophies during his time at City, including five Premier League titles, one FA Cup and a record six League Cups.
He also established a tranche of outstanding individual records, becoming the highest scoring overseas player in Premier League history – as well as setting a new benchmark for the most Premier League hat-tricks after registering his 12th treble away at Aston Villa in 2020.

Sergio left City last summer to join Barcelona before subsequently retiring on health grounds last December.
Ivorian midfield powerhouse Toure also cemented himself as a City icon in his eight years at the Club after joining us from Barcelona in 2010.
Yaya went on to make 316 appearances for City, scoring 82 goals in that time.
He plundered many vital goals along the way, including his memorable winner in the 2011 FA Cup semi-final against United and strike against Stoke in the final, bringing an end to City’s 35-year wait for silverware.
Yaya was also integral in both our Premier League triumphs in 2012 and 2014, scoring a brace in the penultimate game against Newcastle in 2012 to secure a crucial 2-0 win before then scoring an astonishing 24 goals in 2014.
And he also lit up Wembley with a stunning strike against Sunderland in our 2014 League Cup final triumph.

All told, Yaya won three Premier League titles, three League Cups, an FA Cup and Community Shield in his time at the Club.
Amongst the other nominees are three other players who spent time at City during their illustrious careers – Robbie Fowler, Andrew Cole and Peter Schmeichel.
Striker Fowler played 91 times for the Club between 2003 and 2006, scoring 29 goals. Fellow England forward Cole amassed 23 appearances in the 2005/06 campaign, scoring 10 goals.
Danish goalkeeper Schemichel, meanwhile, played 31 times for City during the 2002/03 season.

Today’s shortlist followed the latest two inductees into the Hall of Fame – former Arsenal and City midfielder Patrick Vieira and former Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney - who were announced earlier today.
They joined Thierry Henry, Alan Shearer, David Beckham, Dennis Bergkamp, Eric Cantona, Steven Gerrard, Roy Keane and fellow ex-City midfielder Frank Lampard who were all inducted in 2021.
The shortlist was compiled by the Premier League based on the career statistics of players who meet the Hall of Fame selection criteria.
The career statistics analysed include the number of appearances, goals, assists, clean sheets and individual and team honours.
