Of De Bruyne and Haaland, Walker said: “They’re great players. Kevin has proved it season in season out of what he can do.
“Erling – what he has done in his first season – I don’t think many players have done that.
“You have to take your hats off to him. The big man brings goals. He attracts players.
“When you’ve got the big man up front you need to utilise him. You need to play to people’s strengths.
“Erling is big, he’s tall, strong and he’s quick. We need to use that to our advantage.
“It’s a team game, there’s 11 of us on the pitch that move and create spaces for them to go and shine and show their qualities.”
City gave our prospects of a third successive Premier League title a significant boost with victory over the Gunners, but Walker insists that ambition is far from a reality.
Indeed, the defender has described every game between now and the end of the season as a ‘cup final’ as we set our sights on domestic and European glory.
He said: “It’s a great result but it’s definitely not done. We did what we needed to do which was to get the three points.
“The game at the Emirates was different to what it was today. We tweaked a few things, and we looked professional – we did the job that was needed.
“You can understand the tension. You work so hard all year to receive the prize at the end. Both teams are fighting for it.
“One game at a time. We role onto Sunday and Fulham. We have great sights and ambitions, but we can’t rest on that – we have to go one game at a time.
“Every game now is a cup final, and we need to make sure that the players don’t have an off day, we all step up and all pull our weight to get over the line.”
