Pep Guardiola’s side produced a hugely impressive performance in inflicting a first home loss of the season on the Belgian champions.
It was a team display in every sense of the word with four different scorers – including Walker himself – and everyone, both starters and substitutes, making their own important contribution.
For Walker, the victory - which equalled our record away win in the Champions League group stages - was merely the latest compelling evidence of the diligent way City have gone about our work since his arrival at the Club back in the summer of 2017.
“I feel that’s what we are as a team (a collective),” Walker asserted.

“Over the five seasons that I’ve been here it’s not been one stand out player throughout the season.
“Everyone has chipped in, everyone has dug deep when they’ve needed to dig deep and I think that’s the spirit of this team.
“We all work for each other and that brings the result that it does at Brugge with all the scorers that we had on the scoresheet.
“I thought it was a professional performance. Obviously with the defeat in Paris, it was important to get the win and I thought we controlled the game well for the majority of it.
“Three points and we move on to the next one now.”
On what was a landmark night for City as we equalled our biggest-ever away win the Champions League group stages, it was also a memorable evening for Walker.
The experienced England international capped another fine individual display by registering what was his first-ever Champions League goal to extend City’s advantage to 3-0 early in the second half.

Reflecting on what was a sweetly struck shot, Walker admitted he was delighted to have made such an important contribution.
“I’m going to take the match ball home, it’s coming home with me!” Kyle added.
“It’s a rare one. I didn’t have a Champions League goal until now so I’m going to take it, let the lads sign it and I’ll keep it in my house!
“Joking aside, it was important. 2-0 is always iffy. If they go and get one then our backs are against the wall a little bit but to get that one, be 3-0 up and get on the scoresheet was a good feeling
“It gave the lads a bit of a safety net, we carried on and got the fourth and the game was kind of done then.”

It was also a special evening for Kevin De Bruyne who was playing back in his home country for the first time as a City player.
Reflecting his stature and popularity, the midfielder was afforded a huge reception by all corners of the ground when he was substituted midway through the second half.
And for Walker it was simple further evidence of De Bruyne’s enormous standing and the impact on the domestic and European stage.
“I think Kevin has proved that he’s one of the best players in the world. He’s very proud to come from Belgium,” Walker added.
“I’m very close to Kevin and he’ll be over the moon with the reception he got.
“It’s fully deserved for what he’s achieved at club level but also what he’s done with his nation for this country.”
