City earned a debut win on the resumption of the Premier League as we saw off Leeds United 3-1 at Elland Road.

The victory came courtesy of goals from Rodri and Erling Haaland (2).

The result put us back up to second in the top-flight table, five points behind leaders Arsenal.

Below, we take you through some of the key stats from the game.

They feature Erling Haaland, Ederson and Rico Lewis.

AWESOME HAALAND

Erling Haaland has become the fastest player to score 20 goals in the Premier League.

His brace against Leeds United at Elland Road ensured he reached that milestone in just 14 appearances.

That’s seven appearances fewer than the next quickest – Kevin Phillips for Sunderland in the 1999/2000 campaign.

Remarkably, his 20 goals would have been enough to secure a share of the Golden Boot in five Premier League campaigns.

14 - Erling Haaland
21 - Kevin Phillips
23 - Andrew Cole
26 - Ruud van Nistelrooy

He’s got there quicker than the likes of World Cup winner Lionel Messi, Thierry Henry and our very own, Sergio Aguero.

STARLET RICO

Rico was aged exactly 18 years and 37 days for his first start in the 3-1 win over Leeds United.

Micah was just 17 years and 317 days when he started, on 7 May 2006, in the 2-0 away defeat to Blackburn Rovers.

RE-ENERGISED CITY

It may have been the first Premier League game back for City in the 3-1 win over Leeds but it’s like we’ve never been away.

As explained by Opta in the graphic above, we recorded an Expected Goals (xG) figure of 4.2 at Elland Road.

That’s the highest of any side in the Premier League this season.

Expected goals (xG) measures the quality of a chance by calculating the likelihood that it will be scored from a particular position on the pitch during a particular phase of play. This value is based on several factors from before the shot was taken.
