The Portuguese international comes in for Fernandinho and is one of three changes Pep Guardiola makes from the side that beat Burnley 3-0 in midweek.
Ederson replaces Zack Steffen in goal, while Phil Foden comes in for Cole Palmer.
Line-ups:
City: Ederson, Walker, Laporte, Dias, Mendy, Rodrigo, De Bruyne (c), Foden, Mahrez, Torres, Sterling
Subs: Steffen, Stones, Ake, Bernardo, Fernandinho, Delap, Palmer
Leeds United: Meslier, Ayling, Koch, Cooper, Phillips, Hélder Costa, Klich, Dallas, Alioski, Bamford, Roberts
Subs: Poveda-Ocampo, Llorente, Rodrigo, Struijk, Davis, Caprile, Shackleton
Formation: 4-3-3
Hard to look past a 4-3-3 formation given our personnel this afternoon.
Dias and Laporte will be at the centre of the defence, flanked by Kyle Walker and Benjamin Mendy.
Rodrigo will anchor the midfield, with Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden in the attacking midfield roles.
Up front, Riyad Mahrez and Ferran Torres will flan Raheem Sterling, interchanging throughout no doubt.
WHICH CHANNEL IS LEEDS v CITY ON?
Dias test
Ruben Dias has only had a few days to settle in and get to know his new team-mates at City, but Pep Guardiola has seen of his new signing to have no hesitation in naming him in the starting XI.
It will take time for Dias and Aymeric Laporte to form and understanding and Leeds will look to exploit any uncertainties or hesitancy at the back.
Marcelo Bielsa will have studied Leicester City’s 5-2 win at the Etihad last weekend and will believe his team can exploit any perceived weaknesses.
It is likely to be a baptism of fire and an immediate taste of Premier League life for our new signing.
Talented trio
City’s midweek win over Burnley allowed a new-look forward line to gel for the first time – and it was so impressive that they remain as our front three today.
Raheem Sterling found form at just the right time against the Clarets, while Ferran Torres was excellent and Riyad Mahrez at his silky-skilled best.
City maybe missing Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus – among others – but Sterling, Torres and Mahrez have the ability to dissect even the most stoic of defences.
