Pep Guardiola has given an update on injuries ahead of our trip to Leicester.

The City boss also admitted he doesn’t know whether Ederson and Gabriel Jesus will be allowed to feature after Brazil invoked a five-day ban for players who did not travel for the recent internationals.

City’s main injury concerns of late have been Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden and while De Bruyne could feature against the Foxes, it is likely to be too soon for Foden.

“Yesterday, Phil had his first training session,” said Pep.

“Kevin trained well last week, part alone, part with the other players who were here plus the Under-18s. They feel much better.

Should Ederson have to miss the game at the King Power Stadium, Zack Steffen will not be able to deputise after testing positive to Covid-19.

“Zack is in the US, isolating for the quarantine because he got a positive test,” said Pep.

“After 10-15 days and 2 negative PCRs he will be back. Scott Carson is in our squad because he is able to play. I am fully confident.

“Right now, it isn’t clear if Ederson and Gabriel can play of not.

“Hopefully they can play. We will wait until tomorrow to see if there is some good news.

“The club didn’t inform me of anything. We will wait until tomorrow to see if they can play or not.
