Super sub Gabriel Jesus came off the bench to clinch a hard-fought win for City at Leicester with a late winner at the King Power Stadium.

With the scores locked at 0-0 after 80 minutes, the Brazilian – who had just come on for Sergio Aguero – applied a fine close-range from Riyad Mahrez’s sublime assist, the strike confirmed after a VAR check offside.

Earlier, in a cagey first half, Jamie Vardy had hit the post for Leicester while Aguero had an effort disallowed for offside.

City stepped up the pressure after the break – and Aguero saw a 62nd minute penalty – awarded by VAR after a handball check – saved by Kasper Schmeichel.

But just when it looked like the spoils would be shared, Jesus stepped up to seal the deal and secure a precious win.
