Last meeting
City moved an incredible 17 points clear at the top of the Premier League table with a 2-0 win over Leicester in our last meeting at the beginning of April.
After having an early strike from Fernandinho ruled out for offside, it took City until the 58th minute to break the Foxes’ resistance, who themselves would have gone second with victory at the King Power Stadium.
The breakthrough came when Rodrigo’s cross eventually fell into the path of Benjamin Mendy who composed himself, cut in on his right foot past the onrushing Marc Albrighton and coolly found the bottom corner of Kasper Schmeichel’s net.

And it was two with 15 to play; Kevin De Bruyne’s defence-splitting pass releasing Gabriel Jesus who, after playing a one-two inside the area with Raheem Sterling, slid home the game’s final goal.
It was a thoroughly impressive performance against a side pushing for Champions League football, with the result moving City to within 11 points of reclaiming the Premier League title.
