Three is the magic number, so they say.

And for a player nothing quite beats the satisfaction of registering a hat-trick – after all, it’s the ultimate mark of personal achievement.

Which is why, in our reborn fan feature, we asked you to share your nominations of your favourite treble, from the Pep Guardiola and Nick Cushing eras, on Twitter using the hashtag #City30 and needless to say, you delivered.

CITYZENS AT HOME

There were no shortage of contenders with Bernardo Silva, Raheem Sterling, Pauline Bremer, Georgia Stanway and Jess Park all netting notable trebles in recent years.

But your ultimate vote went to Sergio Aguero – and it was a double nomination at that with Kun’s back-to-back trebles against Arsenal and Chelsea in February 2019 earning your plaudits.

King Kun put the Gunners to the sword in emphatic fashion at the Etiahd, heading the reigning champions ahead inside the first minute.

The Argentine then restored our lead with a quite magnificent effort just before the break, rounding off a perfectly constructed move between Ilkay Gundogan and Raheem Sterling with a simple finish at the far post.

And Aguero set the seal on a 3-1 victory when he bundled in Sterling‘s cross after 61 minutes.

DAVID SILVA: Made in Gran Canaria

Seven days later, Sergio staged a stunning Three-peat, claiming another wonderful treble this time at Chelsea’s expense.

Sterling fired City into a fourth minute lead before Aguero took centre stage as Kun hit a quickfire double, curling a breathtaking 13th-minute shot into the top corner and then poaching his second and City’s third six minutes later.

Gundogan then added a fourth before Aguero‘s penalty 11 minutes into the second half completed another treble and put him level with Alan Shearer’s Premier League record of 11 hat-tricks.

Sterling then seat the seal on a 6-0 thrashing but, once again, Kun was the target man in chief.
