LAST TIME OUT

City’s pre-season preparations stepped up a gear at the Academy Stadium on Saturday as we secured an impressive 4-0 win over Barnsley in our second summer friendly.

Sam Edozie opened the scoring with a fine finish from Riyad Mahrez’s assist before fellow youngster Ben Knight then doubled our advantage.

Mahrez rounded off a fine first half showing with a superb volley before Nathan Ake’s second half close-range effort set the seal on a fine evening’s work from Pep Guardiola’s squad.

HEAD TO HEAD GUIDE

In total, City have won 34 of our 80 clashes with Blackpool, drawing 25 and losing 21 since our first encounter back in 1896.

We last faced the Tangerines in January  2011 in a Premier League clash winning 1-0 at the Etihad.

Earlier that season we triumphed 3-2 at Bloomfield Road in  a game memorable for David Silva’s first and spectacular Premier League effort for the Club.
