The clash with either of the League Two outfits will take place around the weekend of Saturday 14 February.
This means our FA Cup clash will follow our Premier League home game against Fulham on Wednesday 11 February.
Salford and Swindon were originally scheduled to go head to head in the prestigious competition last Saturday. However, due to a frozen pitch, their clash has now been rescheduled for 15:00 (UK) on Saturday 17 January.
Pep Guardiola’s side progressed to the fourth round last weekend after an emphatic 10-1 triumph over Exeter City.
There were plenty of positives to take from our first win of 2026, including Antoine Semenyo’s debut for the Club which saw him score and assist on a fantastic start to life in blue.
We also saw Academy debuts for Ryan McAidoo, who got his name on the scoresheet, and defender Stephen Mfuni. Fellow Academy graduate Rico Lewis bagged a brace as he achieved a lifelong dream of wearing the captain’s armband for Guardiola’s side.
It could be City’s second encounter with League Two outfit Salford City in as many seasons. In 2024/25, Guardiola’s side beat the Ammies 8-0. Since then, Salford finished the campaign in eighth, with the current campaign a much brighter start. They sit fourth as they strive for promotion to League One.
Alternatively, sitting just above Salford, is second-place Swindon Town. It might be City’s first encounter with the Robins since 2022, when our Blues ran out with a 4-1 win at the Energy Check County Ground.
