We started the match without the zip of what we expect from City at the Etihad, but belief from the crowd pushed us to get the opener after the half an hour mark.
Mateo Kovacic slipped Erling Haaland in, who stayed onside before he squared it to Julian Alvarez to tap in.
City weren’t ahead for long as Raul Jimenez found space from a corner and his shot was well saved by Ederson in the City goal, but it dropped perfectly to Tim Ream who himself had a tap in at the back post.
Frustration grew within the Etihad as City pushed and probed to get in front before half time, and indeed we did.
From an in swinging corner, Phil Foden found the head of Nathan Ake who nodded home to make it 2-1 after a VAR check.
Fulham were edging back into the match, as City’s enthusiasm to score a third seemed to be fading, however our main man Erling Haaland had other ideas.
Alvarez spotted the running Haaland behind the Fulham defence, he held off Issa Diop before placing the ball into the corner of the net.
Al Alena was clipped in the box, and a penalty was rewarded. Haaland stepped up to take it, and made no mistake in firing a powerful shot past Bernd Leno.
We still had one more goal in us, and so did Haaland. Foden took the ball to the byline before cutting it back to the Norwegian who drilled the ball into the bottom corner.
