The first league Manchester derby of the season will be played at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday 15 December, with kick-off scheduled for 16:30 (UK).
Last term, Pep Guardiola’s side collected home and away Premier League wins over our arch-rivals en route to our historic Four-In-A-Row success.
This included a 3-1 win at the Etihad where goals from Phil Foden (two) and Erling Haaland saw us come from behind to collect three points.
Earlier this season, we also beat Manchester United to the Community Shield in the traditional curtain raiser after prevailing 7-6 on penalties after a 1-1 draw at Wembley.
But we’ll have to be at our very best to win this weekend and we’ve combined meticulous planning with hard work in training to best aid us in doing so.
As the latest round of Premier League fixtures come into focus, FPL managers will be aiming to maximise their points return this weekend.
Ahead of Saturday 14 December’s 13:30 (UK) deadline, read the Scout’s latest report below…
CITY STAR
Bernardo Silva (£6.3m) looks like a shrewd investment ahead of the eagerly anticipated Manchester derby in Gameweek 16 of Fantasy Premier League.
Between Gameweek 13 and 15 the Portuguese midfielder created five chances, including two that fall under the category of big. This places him second only to Kevin De Bruyne (£9.4m) with seven and two at City in that timeframe.
Bernardo has a favourable record against Manchester United. He scored against them in the Community Shield in August and produced an assist at Old Trafford in the league last season. In total, has returned four goals and six assists against them in all competitions.
ONE TO WATCH
Bruno Fernandes (£8.5m) is the opponents’ in-form player. The Portuguese has returned in four of the last six Gameweeks, producing three goals and four assists.
DIFFERENTIALS
Elsewhere, Leicester’s Jamie Vardy (£5.5m) and Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez (£5.0m) are low-owned assets who merit attention.
Vardy has returned in six of the last seven Gameweeks, producing four goals and three assists.
Meanwhile Fernandez has returned in each of his last five Premier League matches.
