Goals from Phil Foden, Julian Alvarez and Jeremy Doku secured a fine 3-1 win at Red Bull Arena which extended our 100% start in the prestigious competition.
Now, amid our action-packed schedule, attentions turn to our Premier League meeting with Arsenal.
Pep Guardiola’s side lock horns with the Gunners on Sunday 8 October, with kick-off in London scheduled for 16:30 (UK).
The tantalising clash represents the first time the two sides will have met in the league since our precious 4-1 win at the Etihad Stadium in April en route to our third successive title.
However, Arsenal came out on top the last time City faced Mikel Arteta’s side with the north Londoners winning a penalty shootout following a 1-1 draw in the Community Shield.
It’s certainly gearing up to be another enthralling encounter and we were hard at work at the CFA to give us the best chance of gaining three points this weekend.
