Training: FA Cup preparation begins

The Manchester City men's team were back in training on Wednesday afternoon with our attention firmly focused on our upcoming FA Cup instalment.

Following City’s 1-1 draw at Anfield against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool in the Premier League, Pep Guardiola and his team now prepare for a stern test that is Newcastle United in the FA Cup.

Eddie Howe’s side sit 10th in the Premier League table and most recently beat Blackburn Rovers on penalties in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

Our boys in blue booked City’s place in the final eight of the prestigious competition following respective 5-0, 1-0 and 6-2 wins over Huddersfield Town, Tottenham Hotspur and Luton Town.

And fighting to retain the FA Cup for a second successive season, all preparation will prove vital when we welcome the Magpies to the Etihad Stadium on Saturday 16 March, with kick-off scheduled for 17:30 (UK).
