Birthdays

Former City winger David Wagstaffe was born on this day in 1943.

Hailing from Openshaw, David joined City as a youngster and went o to play 144 league appearances for the Club between 1960 and 1964, scoring eight goals.

He then moved to Wolves where he became a mainstay of the Molineux set-up, making more than 400 appearances for the men in gold in total, and he was part of the Wolves team which beat City to win the 1974 League Cup final.

David passed away in 2013 at the age of 70.
