1981: The 100th FA Cup final sees City take on Spurs at Wembley and, for so long it seems as though Tommy Hutchison’s tenth minute flying header might be enough for John Bond’s men.

However, with only ten minutes to go, Hutchinson deflected Glenn Hoddle’s free-kick into the opposite corner of Joe Corrigan’s goal.

There were no further goals in extra time and a replay was set for five days later…

CITYZENS AT HOME

2017: A Toni Duggan hat-trick fired City to a 3-0 win at Bristol City to move us within three points of FA WSL Spring Series leaders Liverpool .

City claimed a dominant 3-0 victory at the Stoke Gifford Stadium, handing Nick Cushing’s side a second consecutive away win and maintaining our unbeaten run in the competition.

2018: City established a new top-flight points record with a 3-1 victory over Brighton as Yaya Toure bid an emotional farewell to the Etihad Stadium.

In Yaya’s final game as a City player, goals from Danilo, Bernardo Silva and Fernandinho ensured Pep Guardiola‘s team surpassed the 95-point tally set by Chelsea under Jose Mourinho in 2004-05.

Yaya’s name was replaced with the word ‘Legend’ on the teamsheet and City supporters went through a repertoire of songs paying tribute to the Ivorian.

At full-time, his brother Kolo - who also played for City between 2009-2013 - emerged to the tune of 2 Unlimited’s 1993 hit ‘No Limit’, to present his younger brother with a commemorative shirt.

Birthdays

1989 - Ellen White: The City and England Lionesses striker moved to City last summer after capturing the nation’s hearts with her heroics in the 2019 World Cup finals.

Ellen helped fire England to the semi-finals and finished joint top scorer in France with six goals before then linking up with City.

The 31-year-old arrived at City armed with vast experience having played with Chelsea, Notts County, Leeds, Arsenal - with whom she won the league, FA Cup and Continental Cup - and Birmingham.

DAVID SILVA - Made in Gran Canaria

1963 - Richard Jobson: After a long, distinguished playing career, central defender Jobson then made a vital contribution to City’s cause between 1998 and 2001.

Despite being 34 when he moved to Maine Road in 1998, Jobson went on to play a crucial role in successive promotion campaigns that saw us move from Division Two back to the Premier League, and in total made 50 league appearances for the Club.

Post retirement, Jobson also who also enjoyed lengthy spells with Hull City and Oldham Athletic before moving to City, then took up a role with the PFA and he is currently the organisation’s assistant chief executive.
