1990: Howard Kendall quits as City boss for a second spell as Everton manager barely a year after taking over at Maine Road.
Kendall departs claiming that City are like a love affair while Everton are a marriage, infuriating City fans, particularly as Kendall was shaping the Club into a force to be reckoned with.
2011: City maintain our unbeaten start to the Premier League season with a thrilling 3-2 victory over QPR in an entertaining see-saw encounter at Loftus Road.
Rangers began well and led through Jay Bothroyd’s header but Edin Dzeko fired City level just before half-time.

David Silva slotted City ahead, but QPR hit back when Heidar Helguson deflected in Bothroyd’s header on the line.
City rallied again though and struck decisively 16 minutes from time when Yaya Toure headed in to earn a 10th win in 11 league games and an eighth successive victory in all competitions to maintain our five-point lead at the top of the table.
2013: Alvaro Negredo’s hat-trick ensured City moved into the Champions League knockout phase for the first time with a comfortable 5-2 win over CSKA Moscow at the Etihad.
Sergio Aguero was the initial inspiration, scoring two and setting up another for Negredo as City scored three times inside the first half-hour to make it a straightforward night for Manuel Pellegrini’s side.
Aguero‘s early penalty was followed by a cool finish before a cross for strike partner Negredo effectively ended the contest.
Seydou Doumbia did pull a goal back for CSKA before the interval but the outstanding Samir Nasri set up Negredo’s second just after half-time to restore City’s three-goal advantage.

Doumbia beat City keeper Costel Pantilimon from the spot but Negredo, swiftly becoming a cult figure among our fans and now dubbed “The Beast”, had the final word when he completed his treble in the dying seconds with a header.
2017: City manager Pep Guardiola praised his side’s “amazing” run of form after we outclassed Arsenal 3-1 to open up an eight-point lead at the top of the Premier League.
It was our ninth consecutive league win, a club record for a single season, with City also progressing to the knockout stage of the Champions League and the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup.
Kevin de Bruyne‘s driven finish and a Sergio Aguero penalty put City in command and, even though substitute Alexandre Lacazette pulled one back for Arsenal, Gabriel Jesus sealed victory for the home side from close range.
2017: Nikita Parris’ winner ten minutes from time ensured City maintained our 100% record this season, with a 2-1 defeat of Everton in the FA WSL Continental Cup.
The winger’s close range header secured all three points after Simone Magill cancelled out Izzy Christiansen’s first half opener, to send City top of the group after two games.
There was more reason for City to celebrate as Karen Bardsley made her return from injury, though she was rarely called upon as the home side dominated the opening period.
