2007: Elano guided City to a sixth successive home win as we overcame a dogged Birmingham City 1-0.

The Brazilian struck to put Sven-Goran Eriksson’s side ahead in the latter stages of the first half, cleverly slotting home with a left-footed shot.

If Elano provided the attacking threat - the Brazilian also went close with a second-half shot - the home defence had to weather a Birmingham fightback.

Goalkeeper Joe Hart twice came to City’s rescue, making a one-handed stop to thwart Olivier Kapo as well as a reaction save to deny Fabrice Muamba.

2012: Substitute Edin Dzeko scored two late goals to earn 10-man Manchester City an unlikely win against West Brom.

The Premier League champions were facing an uphill struggle after James Milner’s early red card for bringing down Shane Long when through on goal.

And City were staring at the prospect of a first league defeat of the season when Long gave the hosts the lead.

But Dzeko levelled with a header from a free-kick before finishing a blistering counter-attack in stoppage time.

2018: Manager Pep Guardiola praised his City side for their “beautiful, beautiful goals” after we remained top of the Premier League with a convincing 5-0 win over Burnley.

Sparkling finishes from Bernardo Silva, Fernandinho and Riyad Mahrez, in particular, caught the eye as City maintained their 100% home record this season.

“After we scored the second goal and third quickly it was much easier,” Guardiola said.
