Erling Haaland, Phil Foden and Rodrigo have all been shortlisted for the PFA Players’ Player of the Year award.

The trio were all instrumental to Manchester City’s historic 2023/24 season where Pep Guardiola’s side became the first men’s team to win four straight English top-flight titles.

England international Foden enjoyed arguably his greatest campaign for the Blues since his senior debut in 2017.

Across his 53 appearances in all competitions, the 24-year-old scored 27 goals and assisted 12 – earning him the FWA Footballer of the Year, Premier League Player of the Season and Etihad Player of the Season awards.

After a remarkable maiden season in England where Haaland scored the most goals in a single Premier League term and the highest amount in all competitions by a Premier League player, he continued to break new ground in 2023/24.

In November he set another Premier League record, becoming the quickest player in the competition’s history to 50 goals when netting in our 1-1 draw with Liverpool.

By the season’s end, he had netted 27 league goals – earning him a second straight Golden Boot award and should he pick up the PFA prize he will have won back-to-back awards after claiming the gong last term.

And Rodrigo once again proved to be a vital cog in City’s machine last term after recording his best numbers throughout a campaign for the Blues.

In what was his fifth season with the Club, he registered 13 assists and scored nine goals to help us to Premier League glory before winning Euro 2024 with Spain.

Joining City’s players on the shortlist are Martin Odegaard (Arsenal), Cole Palmer (Chelsea) and Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa).

The 2024 PFA awards ceremony will be held at the Manchester Opera House on Tuesday 20 August where the winners will be announced.

Everyone at City would like to send their congratulations to Erling, Phil and Rodrigo on being shortlisted for the PFA Players’ Player of the Year award.
