A closer look at the breakdown of some of the key statistics for the campaign helps highlight the impressive individual contributions made by several of Pep Guardiola’s first team personnel.
Raheem Sterling, of course, enjoyed his finest season yet for City.
The England star topped our goal scoring charts for the 2019/20 season as he recorded a career-best tally of 20 league goals, closely followed by Sergio Aguero (16) and Gabriel Jesus (14).

Kevin De Bruyne, meanwhile, was once again crowned as our assist king.
The Belgian midfielder achieved a career-best tally of 20 assists for the league season.
In the process, KDB not only won the coveted Premier League Player of the Season and Playmaker of the Season awards, but also equalled Thierry Henry’s record for the highest-ever number of assists in a season – a record which stretched back to 2003.
David Silva was second in the assist rankings with 10, while Riyad Mahrez finished third with a total of nine.
Gabriel Jesus was another to enjoy a season’s best return in his tally of 14 league goals and the Brazilian striker’s fine contribution was further borne out by him finishing top in terms of shots for the season.
Jesus registered 101 shots across the league campaign, putting him clear of De Bruyne and Sterling who both claimed 99.

A glance at the other key statistical breakdowns reveal the impact made by Rodrigo in his first season at the Club.
Manager Pep Guardiola has spoken more than once about how he believes the 24-year-old will be an important member of the squad looking to the long term and Rodrigo’s qualities were borne out in his first year at the Club.
Our Spanish midfielder, who joined City from Atletico Madrid last summer, topped the rankings for passes making 2,579 across the campaign, finishing clear of second-placed Fernandinho (2,222) and third-paced Ilkay Gundogan (1,953).
Rodrigo also topped the charts for tackles won, sharing first position with Fernandinho with 50 tackles apiece, Kevin De Bruyne taking third spot with 45.
For Fernandinho, the 2019/20 campaign saw our Brazilian adapt to a new role at the centre of defence for much of the campaign following a serious knee injury suffered by Aymeric Laporte last August.
It proved a seamless transition for the 34-year-old – a fact borne out by Ferna topping the rankings for both aerial battles won and clearances.

Finally, Ilkay Gundogan was in pole position in terms of interceptions made across the 2019/20 league season.
Our German midfielder made 31 intercepts, edging out second-placed Kyle Walker (28) and Rodrigo (26).
