Pep Guardiola’s side return to league action following our 5-0 victory over Huddersfield in the FA Cup last time out with a visit to St James’ Park.
Kick-off against the Magpies is scheduled for 17:30 (UK) on Saturday 13 January and the fixture will represent the third time we’ll have faced Eddie Howe’s side this term.
In August’s Premier League encounter at the Etihad Stadium, Julian Alvarez’s fine first-half goal proved to be the difference in a 1-0 success for the Blues.
But in our Carabao Cup fixture in September, City suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat in the north east.
And it’s set to be another tough test this weekend with the Magpies buoyed by their strong 3-0 victory over arch-rivals Sunderland in their previous assignment.
In order to give us the best possible chance of collecting three points this weekend, Guardiola and his players were hard at work on Wednesday.
Before the session began, we were acquainted with CFG sister club Bahia’s team who are beginning their 2024 pre-season preparations at the City Football Academy.
