Pep Guardiola’s three-and-a-half seasons in charge have been the most successful period in the Club’s history, during which we’ve won no fewer than eight trophies.
Perhaps most impressive, however, is how we’ve won them.
Playing a brand of football the likes of which had not been seen before in this country, City have been the dominant team domestically, as evidenced by the countless records we’ve broken on our way to glory.
In total, we have set or equalled 15 records since the Premier League’s inception.

Biggest title-winning margin
City were utterly dominant in 2017/18, winning the Premier League with a 19-point advantage over second-placed Manchester United.
In doing so, we broke the record previously held by the Reds, who won the 1999/2000 title by 18-points.
Smallest title-winning margin
Guardiola’s first Premier League may have been won at a canter, but the Club’s maiden victory in the competition was a considerably tighter affair.
A +8 goal difference was enough for us to win the 2011/12 title, when Sergio Aguero’s last gasp heroics against Queens Park Rangers edged out United.
Most wins in a season
Our unforgettable 2017/2018 campaign saw us register 32 victories, the most in an English top-flight season.
The previous record had only been set the year before, when Antonio Conte’s Chelsea won 30 games.
Most away wins in a season
Our 1-0 win over Southampton on the final day of the 2017/18 season was our 16th away victory and saw us eclipse Chelsea’s record of 15, which they set in 2004/05.
Most consecutive wins
City’s blistering start to the 2017/18 campaign saw us win 18 consecutive games. The remarkable run started with a 2-1 victory at Bournemouth on 26 August and ended with a 1-0 defeat of Newcastle United on 27 December.
We share this record with Liverpool, who achieved the same number of consecutive wins between 27 October 2019 and 24 February 2020.
Most consecutive away wins
This milestone was achieved across two seasons.
Beginning with our 5-0 demolition of Watford on the final day of the 2016/17 campaign and ending with a 1-0 win at Newcastle the following December, City won 11 away games in a row.
It’s another record we share, with Chelsea having embarked on a run of the same length in 2008.
Fewest home defeats in a season
Roberto Mancini avoided tasting defeat at the Etihad Stadium as he guided us to the 2011/12 title.
It equalled an existing record shared by Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and United, whilst Spurs have since joined the list of clubs to register an unblemished home campaign.
Most draws in a season
Back in 1993/94, when the Premier League was a 22-team competition, 18 of City’s 42 games ended all square.
Sheffield United recorded the same number of draws that season, whilst Southampton had the same tally in the following campaign.
In a 38-game season, the record is 17 and is shared by Newcastle (2003/04), Aston Villa (2006/07 & 2011/12) and Sunderland (2014/15)
Fewest draws in a season
At the other end of the spectrum was our 2018/19 season, when just two of our games finished with the scores level.
It’s another record we share, as Tottenham Hotspur matched us in the same campaign.
Fewest home draws in a season
Twice we have completed an entire campaign without a single draw in front of our own fans, in 2008/09 and again ten years later in 2018/19.
United (2012/13) and Chelsea (2016/17) are the only other teams to have done so.
Most consecutive draws
Under Mark Hughes in 2009/10, City drew seven games in a row to set another Premier League record.
It’s one we share with Norwich City (1993/94) and Southampton (1994/95), but we are the only team to do so in a 38-game season.
Most points in a season
We are the only team in English top-flight history to reach 100 points in a single season.
Heading into the final day of the 2017/18 campaign, our tally of 97 points had already broken Chelsea’s record of 95, set in 2004/05.
However, Gabriel Jesus’ last minute goal gave us a 1-0 win over Southampton to ensure we ended the season as the first ever Centurions.
Most goals in a season
With a devastating array of attacking talent, City have had no trouble finding the back of the net under Guardiola.
The 106 goals we scored in 2017/18 is an unmatched Premier League record. That’s an average of 2.7 goals a game.
Fewest goals scored at home in a season
In stark contrast to the previous milestone, was our performance in front of goal during 2006/07.
We scored just 10 times at the Etihad under Stuart Pearce, which is a home record we share with Huddersfield Town’s 2018/19 squad.
Best goal difference in a season
The prolific nature of our attacking play during the 2017/18 campaign was matched by some stellar defending on our march to the title.
With 106 goals for and just 27 against, Guardiola’s men ended the season with a goal difference of +79 – the highest ever recorded in the Premier League.
