Gabriel Jesus believes the 1-0 win away to Leicester has given Manchester City a major boost ahead of our Champions League first leg clash with Real Madrid.

The Brazilian’s cool first-time finish with ten minutes to go secured a hard-fought victory at the King Power Stadium, moving us seven points clear of the hosts.

And Jesus insists we can take confidence from negotiating a difficult test against the Foxes when we pit our wits against Los Blancos on Wednesday night.

He said: “(Leicester) are a good team, a good club, they have a lot of quality, they play deep, (it was a) tough game and the atmosphere was so hot.

“It’s a little bit the same I think (against Real Madrid), I have never been in the Bernabeu but I think the atmosphere is good so that’s amazing for us to win here to get confidence for Wednesday.”

Every game is important, but there are few moments in football that can beat facing another top European side on a Champions League night.

And there is no question, according to Jesus, that he and his teammates are up for the challenge.

However, the Brazilian did offer some words of sympathy for his manager Pep Guardiola, who has a difficult task on his hands choosing a starting eleven for our trip to the Spanish capital.

“I think it’s going to be a good game and atmosphere,” the forward said of our match at the Bernabeu.

“It’s an important game, that’s the challenge, a game like that, all the players want to play this kind of game, so I think for Pep, it’s going to be crazy to decide the line-up.”
