De Bruyne had a hand in both goals as he reinforced his status as one of the most potent attacking outlets in the country, whilst Laporte and Rodrigo etched their names into the record books.
The Frenchman was making his 50th Premier League appearance, of which he has been on the winning side 43 times, which is the best record from a half-century of games in the competition’s history.
And he eclipsed some illustrious names to claim top spot, with Ederson having previously jointly held the record alongside Didier Drogba and Arjen Robben, all of whom won 42 of their first 50 matches.
Rodrigo, meanwhile, was busy out passing West Ham.

Both statistics – attempted and completed passes – are the highest number achieved in a single Premier League match since such data began being collected in the 2003/04 season.

There were no records for De Bruyne, but it was another game in which he highlighted his remarkable range of talents.

The 28-year-old has hit the back of the net eight times and laid on 16 goals for his team-mates and his total of 24 is three greater than second-placed Jamie Vardy.
And, what about the boss?
Well, Pep achieved a personal milestone at the expense of West Ham.
He has been victorious in each of the nine games he has faced the East London outfit, his best 100% win rate in all competitions as City manager.
His previous best was eight wins from eight matches against Watford.
