In total, 7,773 supporters were in attendance for a game which welcomed two sets of fans to an English stadium for the first time since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic and the cup final was most certainly a better occasion for it.
Quite simply, it was moment we had all been waiting for and the sight of Pep Guardiola and his players celebrating in front of our fans was something to savour after a year of matches played behind-closed-doors.
The City contingent were in fine voice, roaring the team onto victory and, afterwards, Guardiola paid tribute to the support.
“It wasn’t full but they represented all the people,” he said.
“To share it with them, it sounds better. They made some good noise so it’s better of course. The reason why we do that is for them.”
