Sergio Aguero, Ruben Dias and Rodrigo could all be available for Manchester City’s game against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, but Fernandinho will miss out with injury.

Aguero has missed 11 games after coming into contact with someone with COVID-19, before then testing positive himself, but Pep Guardiola has confirmed that after being slowly reintegrated into the squad the Argentine is now back training as normal.

Rodrigo was forced off with injury during the midweek FA Cup win over Swansea City, which Dias missed due to illness, but both players have trained ahead of Spurs’ visit to the Etihad Stadium.

“Rodri trained quite good today and I think he will be available tomorrow,” said Guardiola at his pre-match press conference.

“Ruben came back to training today and Sergio made his second training session with us.”

A thigh injury kept Fernandinho out of the trip to Swansea and Guardiola confirmed the club captain remains on the injured list, along with Nathan Ake and Kevin De Bruyne.

“Except Fernandinho, Nathan and Kevin, I think the rest of the first team squad are available,” he added.

City are in superb form ahead of our clash with Spurs, having won 15 games in a row in all competitions to set a new English top-flight record.

We are unbeaten in 22 matches, with our last defeat coming against this weekend’s opponents, who beat us 2-0 in North London back in November.

Guardiola felt it was a deserved victory for Jose Mourinho’s men and admitted his side will have to perform better if we are to extend are remarkable winning run.

“We did really well,” he said when asked what has changed since that defeat to Spurs.

“We lost because they were better in many aspects than us in that game.

“You see the quality of the players they have and the manager, it’s a strong team. We have to do better tomorrow to beat them.”
