Pep Guardiola’s side begin the defence of our crown by welcoming Huddersfield Town to the Etihad Stadium on Sunday 7 January, with the third round fixture scheduled for 14:00 (UK).
The tie represents our first match in the competition since last season’s epic final at Wembley where an iconic Ilkay Gundogan brace helped us beat Manchester United 2-1 en route to the Big Five.
Although Darren Moore’s side sit 38 places below us in the football pyramid, advancing into the fourth round of the prestigious tournament will be no easy task.
City last faced the Yorkshire side in January 2019 at the John Smith’s Stadium where goals from Danilo, Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane secured a 3-0 success.
