The Argentina forward has six winners medals and has been part of the most successful international side and club team in an incredible journey that began with Argentina’s World Cup win in Qatar a year ago.
Since then, he’s added the FA Cup, Premier League, Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup titles to his glowing CV which nobody in world football can currently match.
And he capped his 2023 off with two goals, an assist, and a man of the match display in City’s 4-0 win over Fluminense in Jeddah.
“It’s incredible and personally, I am very happy,” said Alvarez.
“We came here to achieve this. We had two games; we knew it wasn’t going to be easy.
“But to be - in a short time - world champion with the club and with the Argentinian national team is a source of pride. It is something that I’ve dreamed of dreams of since childhood and having achieved this gives me a lot of satisfaction.
“The truth is that I have achieved the most important titles that a player can achieve and at only 23 years-old.
“But my mentality is to continue doing it this way, to do what I love, to play football and what makes me happy is being on the field.
“And obviously you have to compete to win. And the desire now is to continue doing the same and try to win (these titles) again, because the feeling of having achieved all these things is very nice.
“So I’m going to try my best to feel that again.”
Asked what other dreams he wants to fulfil in the future, Alvarez said: “The truth is that I am very happy at Manchester City.
“I have been at the club for a little more than a year. I feel very happy with everything we have achieved.
“Last season and from the first moment they have helped me a lot. I have grown a lot as a player, as a person, so in terms of that, I am happy at the club.
“And obviously one continues to dream and continues to want to win more titles. Now our goal is to win them all over again!”
