The Spaniard guided City to six wins in as many games and conceded only once in a brilliant run which saw us climb from eighth position to the top of the table.

An impressive 3-1 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge got Guardiola’s side off to a flying start and we went from strength to strength, keeping five consecutive clean sheets in victories over Brighton and Hove Albion, Crystal Palace, Aston Villa, West Bromwich Albion and Sheffield United.

January proved to be a perfect month for Guardiola and City, with those six league wins forming part of a remarkable sequence that saw the Club claim another record in English football.

Cup victories over Manchester United, Birmingham City and Cheltenham Town took our January tally of wins to nine – the most by a team in the top four tiers of English football in a single month since the formation of the Football League in 1888.

Guardiola is one of four nominees for the Premier League Manager of the Month award and is up against Mike Arteta (Arsenal), David Moyes (West Ham United) and Graham Potter (Brighton) for the prize.
