City have made it through to the 2023/24 Champions League knockout phase.

It’s the 11th season in succession in which we have progressed through, charting all the way back to 2013/14.

In that time, we have won the competition once (2022/23), reached another final (2020/21), made it through to the semi-finals twice (2021/22, 2015/16), quarter-finals three times (2019/20, 2018/19, 2017/18) and Round of 16 three times also (2016/17, 2014/15, 2013/14).

Pep Guardiola said on the eve of the game this evening that it was ‘so important, more than you can imagine’ to finish the job tonight.

And that’s exactly what his confident team did, with two games remaining, as we outclassed Young Boys at the Etihad 3-0.

Goals from Erling Haaland (2) and Phil Foden ensured we’re guaranteed to finish in the top two of Group G and now look ahead to February’s next phase.

We’re still to play RB Leipzig at home (Tuesday 28 November) and Red Star Belgrade away (Wednesday 13 December) to close out this stage.

Congratulations to Pep and the team on making it through once again.
