The revised Champions League will not consist of groups, rather one 36-team league phase.
All competing teams will play eight matches in the league phase.
And it was the name of Manchester City that was the first ever team drawn out of Pot 1 in the new draw that got the process under way.
The teams City will play - four of which will be hosted at the Etihad and four away - are as follows:
Inter Milan (H )
Paris Saint-Germain (A)
Club Brugge (H)
Juventus (A)
Feyenoord (H)
Sporting CP (A)
Sparta Prague (H)
Slovan Bratislava (A)
Draw overview
The new format has not disappointed with some mouth-watering fixtures to look forward to.
One match that jumps out is an early reunion with our 2023 Champions League final opponents Inter, who will be making a first visit to the Etihad.
The Blues have faced Paris Saint-Germain on several occasions over the past decade or so, with City winning four, drawing once and losing once in the Champions League.
Our only UCL clashes with Juventus both ended in defeat in the 2015/16 campaign, with Juive winning 1-0 in Turin and 2-1 at the Etihad.
In 2021/22 City took on Club Brugge in the Champions League group stage, winning 4-1 at the Etihad and 5-1 in Belgium.
City also boast a 100% record against Feyenoord in the Champions League, beating the Dutch side 1-0 at the Etihad and 4-0 in the return match in the Netherlands back in 2017/18.
Our two matches against Sporting Lisbon both took place in 2021/22.
The Blues won 5-0 in Lisbon and the Etihad return was a 0-0 draw
The Blues have never faced Czech side Sparta Prague or Slovakian team Slovan Bratislava in the UCL – or any other European competition.
This is the 15th campaign in succession that the Blues have competed in the Champions League.
The World is Watching
Last season, City were the most-watched football club globally – the second year in a row we have held that position. Much of that was down to our strong performance across multiple competitions, including the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, Premier League and FIFA Club World Cup.
It’s likely the Blues will again be attracting TV audiences in the many millions against this season as we attempt to win the Champions League for the second time, with the 2025 final taking place in Munich.
The dates, order of fixtures and kick-off times for all UEFA Champions League - League Phase matches will be confirmed on Saturday 31 August.
Keep watching the official Man City App throughout the day - until then, we can’t publish when and where our Matchdays will take place.
For the record, these days have been reserved by UEFA for each round of the league phase, as a guideline of when the matches could be played.

What is the new Champions League format?
The biggest change is to the group stage, which will become a single 36-team league stage.
Each side faces eight different teams (four at home, four away).
The top eight overall advance directly to the round of 16; sides finishing from ninth to 24th will contest the knockout round play-offs, with the victors going through to the last 16. From then on it is a straight knockout.
