The attention is first focused on Brian Barry-Murphy’s Elite Development Squad who kick off our UYL group stages at home to RB Leipzig’s Under-19s.
The City youngsters have made a fine start to the defence of our PL2 title and will be seeking to transform that excellent domestic form onto the continental stage.
You can follow all of the action via our Twitter: @ManCityAcademy, and a comprehensive match report will be available to view on mancity.com and our official app shortly after the final whistle.
Then the spotlight is very much trained on Pep Guardiola’s first team as City open up in Group A of the Champions League with a home fixture against RB Leipzig.
City, of course, were finalists in last season’s Champions League and we will be straining every sinew this term in a bid to try and go one better though the Bundesliga visitors – who currently lie 12th in the German top flight - will present stern opposition.

A bumper Saturday sees Pep Guardiola’s men, our Elite Development Squad and Under-18s all in action.
First up, Ben Wilkinson’s Under-18s launch our Under-18 Premier League Cup campaign with a home encounter against Aston Villa.
City won the Cup both in 2019 and 2020 – and with the event not held last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic – we will be seeking to make it a hat-trick of trophy triumphs.
Kick-off at the City Football Academy is at 12.00pm (UK) and live updates will be posted on @ManCityAcademy, while a match report will also be available to view on mancity.com and our official app.
Then on the senior stage City welcome Southampton to the Etihad Stadium for a 15.00 kick-off, as we aim to make it four wins from four in the Premier League.
