Training: City step up preparations ahead of Liverpool Carabao Cup clash

City stepped up preparations for this week's Carabao Cup fourth round clash with Liverpool in Tuesday's latest training session at the CFA.

After warming up with last Saturday’s friendly win over Girona, Pep Guardiola‘s side return to competitive action on Thursday night with an Etihad date against Liverpool.

And there were some familiar faces back on the training field on Tuesday as we welcomed back more of our World Cup contingent.

Nathan Ake, Rodrigo and Manuel Akanji were all back in the thick of things at the CFA following their international duties at the Qatar showpiece as the domestic calendar takes centre stage once more.

And, as our gallery demonstrates, the squad were in great spirits as they went about their work under the watchful eye of Pep and his coaching staff.
