City were in matchday minus one mode ahead of our return to Premier League action at home to Brentford on Saturday, as Pep Guardiola and his coaching staff made the final preparations before we face Thomas Frank’s side.
With City kicking off at 12:30pm (UK) kick-off time on Saturday, a victory would see us leapfrog Arsenal into top spot in the Premier League - for a few hours at least with the Gunners not playing until 19:45pm.
It’s our last game ahead of the World Cup finals and spirits were high in the camp after several of our players received call-ups to their respective national squads for the Qatar showpiece.

During our last meeting with the Bees, back in February, we recorded a 2-0 victory at the Etihad Stadium thanks to goals from Riyad Mahrez and Kevin De Bruyne.
And we’ll be hoping for a similar result on Saturday to extend our four-game winning streak and send us into the six-week break on a real high.
