With the 2022 World Cup upon us, Fantasy Premier League managers may use the six week break to reflect on the first half of the season.

From the highs of an Erling Haaland hat-trick against Manchester United to the occaional surprise result, the opening three months of 2022/23 have had it all.

There have also been some brilliant individual displays which have seen managers vindicated for difficult decisions.

And three of City’s stars are among the highest scoring figures in their positions.

IMPRESSIVE ERLING

Following his exceptional start to life in the Premier League, perhaps it’s no surprise that Erling Haaland is the highest scoring FPL player to date this season.

With 18 goals and three assists, the 22-year-old has racked up a total 123 points, and if he maintains the same trajectory, could set a new overall points total at the end of the term.

This is potentially why a staggering 82.7 percent of players have him leading their side’s attack.

And a statistic which may have flown under the radar is the Norwegian ranks first in the threat level stats meaning, according to FPL’s ICT index, he’s the player most likely to score each week.

DIFFERENTIAL DE BRUYNE

Kevin De Bruyne has proved to be one of the most consistent midfield options if the game so far this term.

His points total of 90 represents the second best in his department in 2022/23 so far, with his highest scoring display coming in City’s 4-0 victory over AFC Bournemouth.

A goal and an assist against the Cherries saw him gain 14 points, putting a smile on the face of every manager who selected him.

He has scored three league goals so far this season, with his latest being the sublime effort in our 3-1 victory over Brighton.

Although he sits behind Newcastle’s Miguel Almiron in terms of overall points, De Bruyne ranks first in influence and creativity among his FPL colleagues.

CLASSY CANCELO

With Joao Cancelo’s immense ability in attack and defence, he’s certainly an asset to have in FPL.

And it’s no surprise he’s one of the leading defenders in the division.

The Portugal international ranks as the fourth highest in the department behind, Kieran Trippier and Arsenal duo William Saliba and Gabriel.

Unsurprisingly, his expert display in our 4-0 victory over Southampton where he scored, assisted and maintained a clean sheet represented his best return this term (18 points).

But it wasn’t his first double digit display, with our victories over AFC Bournemouth (11) and Nottingham Forest (12) his previous two.
