Akanji voted Etihad Player of the Month for October

The Swiss international’s remarkable start to life at City has seen him effortlessly slip into the team with a series of top-notch performances during his first two months at the Club.

With Erling Haaland picking up the first two Etihad awards this season, Akanji’s win means all three Etihad prizes for the 2022/23 campaign have gone to former Borussia Dortmund stars.

Akanji was pushed all the way by Ederson, as fans voted in their thousands.

Akanji took 45% of the vote, with Ederson on 37%

Nathan Ake finished third in the poll with 18%.
