In a tense encounter at the Brentford Community Stadium, we managed to grab the lead through Phil Foden, who diverted home an inch-perfect cross from Kevin De Bruyne.
Foden thought he had grabbed our second, but was beaten by the offside trap this time around, as was Aymeric Laporte, who was judged to be millimetres offside after his header hit the back of the net in the closing stages.
Our defence had to withstand the pressure applied by the hosts, particularly during Brentford’s infamous set pieces, but were able to nullify the threat posed by our hosts.
In the end, one goal proved to be enough for Pep Guardiola’s side, sealing a crucial three points, extending our lead at the top of the Premier League to eight points.
