We opened the scoring with just seven minutes on the clock when Phil Foden fired home a rebound off Rodri’s shot, and were soon two ahead when Jack Grealish scored with a bullet header from a corner.
Kevin De Bruyne fired home from a tight angle on his return to the side, ensuring we went into halftime with a three-goal lead, and it didn’t take long for the goals to start rolling in after the break, with Riyad Mahrez producing a classy finish into the bottom corner, leaving Ilian Meslier stranded.
But if the Leeds keeper would’ve struggled to stop Mahrez’s shot, he had no chance with our fifth, as De Bruyne produced a rocket of a shot, flying into the net from outside of the box, sending the Etihad crowd to its feet.
City’s ability to score from all over the pitch was certainly on show this evening, with John Stones firing home from close range, before Nathan Ake headed home from a corner to round off the scoring
