Foden often admits he feels the need to pinch himself to believe what he has achieved at the tender age of 20, lining up alongside some of the world’s greatest players and cherishing trophy success with his beloved City.
Approaching his 100th game for the Club, the midfielder currently stands as one of City’s most influential performers, starring throughout the 2020/21 campaign.
The Stockport-born Blue – the Club’s top scorer this term – produced another Man of the Match display to inspire Guardiola’s side to FA Cup success over Cheltenham Town, levelling the score with a composed finish to turn the tie in City’s favour.
The man himself expressed his delight after the game, declaring he felt ‘on cloud nine’ and Onuoha says he is thrilled to see fellow Academy graduate shine.
“He’s doing so well,” Onuoha stated, speaking on our We’re Not Really Here matchday show.
“For such a young player to have such an influence is credit to him.
“This is a team that is one of the best in the world and when you don’t see his name on the team sheet, people are disappointed. It’s so impressive.
“He is constantly working to get better and that’s why he has such a big future ahead.”
Former City striker Paul Dickov echoed the sentiments, hailing those who have aided the midfielder’s rapid development.
“I think City fans and people in the Club aren’t surprised,” he added. “It’s the people outside.
“People questioned whether he should go out on loan but the coaches need praising and so does Phil.
“He ran the show. Everything came through Phil Foden. It was all about him and he’s going to be huge in the next few weeks.”
As City rode the momentum, Foden’s equaliser at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium was followed up with goals from Gabriel Jesus and Ferran Torres, as Guardiola’s men secured progression to the fifth round with a late rally, cancelling out Alfie May’s opener.

“I think the best thing for me is the goals are spread,” he continued.
“People are chipping in – Foden, Mahrez, Sterling, Torres…
“It’s a great position to be in and that can make a huge difference later on.
“People show the desire and when a goal is needed, the same faces are in the box.
“To be a City fan is insane!”
